New
rudder stock being taken into position after it was machined to suit vessels
original stock dimensions as per drawings provided by the Owners. The
vessel was beleguarded after she suffered rudderstock failure after fifteen
years in service. probable cause due to heavy corrosion of the shaft in
the way of dissimilar metals leading to a development of creeping crack
resulting into shearing off of the stock just above lower S. S. chrome
liner.
